5 DAYS, 4 NIGHTS MASAI MARA AND AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
KENYA'S FAMOUS PARKS
No park in the world sees as many animals as the great Masai Mara National Reserve. A flourishing ecosystem that hosts all of Africa’s Big Five, the reserve is an exciting mix of wildlife, savannah, rolling hills, and iconic acacia trees adorning the landscape.
Our second destination, Amboseli National Park is like a postcard with its iconic views of Africa’s tallest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro. The game spotting is active in this smaller park. You can’t miss the massive herds of elephants marching before you and the great mountain rising beyond them in stunning relief.
SAFARI ITINERARY
Nairobi – Masai Mara (Appx: 265kms – 5-6 hrs)
Meal plan: Lunch, Dinner.
07:30 hrs. We will pick you up from your Nairobi Hotel, residence, or the Nairobi airport.
In your private safari vehicle, we’ll journey out to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve.
We should arrive at the Masai Mara at about lunchtime, which we’ll enjoy at our chosen accommodation.
Then, get ready for the awesome expanse and stirring wildlife populations of the great reserve. This is one of the world’s great ecosystems and unparalleled for its diversity of wildlife. Hunters and grazers, both large and small fill the sweeping hills and savannahs of the beautiful park.
Your first game drive will be an introduction to the numbers and variety of wildlife you’ll experience during your three days in the park.
OVERNIGHT – We’ll spend the night at a safari lodge or tented camp of your choice.
Choose from Budget, economy, comfort, or luxury accommodations, depending on your budget, style, and taste.
Full Day – Masai Mara
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
We’ll be up early to view the park’s abundant wildlife, said to the densest of any park in the region. This will be a day of unlimited game drives over the golden fields and past the distinctive acacia trees adorning these plains.
Be on the lookout for Africa’s Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. The birdlife is also abundant, and should you be here during the season of the Great Migration (July – October), prepare yourself to witness the largest movement of animals on the planet.
Primarily made up of wildebeest and zebra, the migrating animals cross into the park by the thousands at the Mara River, also the site of hippos and waiting crocodiles. The potential drama here is inescapable as the streaming herds enter these lands for fresh grasses as the predators lie in wait.
Another optional event is an early morning hot air balloon ride over the reserve. Take in the park below coming to life as the fields light up and the wildlife begins a new day on the savannah. A magnificent experience – just ask your driver/guide to set up either or both activities.
OVERNIGHT – We’ll spend the night at a safari lodge or tented camp of your choice.

Masai Mara to Amboseli (520 km – Approx. 9 Hrs)
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
We’ll be up before the birds on an early morning departure to Amboseli Park.
Traveling past fields and farmland, we’ll make stops along the way to appreciate Kenya’s natural scenery.
We’ll also take a lunch break to stretch and relax.
Arriving at Amboseli Park in the afternoon, there will be time for a game drive and to get acquainted with the reserve.
At the park’s southern boundary stands the towering form of Mt. Kilimanjaro, a constant presence looking over the rich variety of wildlife all about in this smaller park.
Toward evening the mountain’s snow-capped peak may be revealed as the high-altitude cloud cover can burn off, leaving us with a perfect vista of one of Africa’s most inspirational sites.
OVERNIGHT – We’ll spend the night at a safari lodge or tented camp of your choice.
Choose from economy, comfort, or luxury accommodations, depending on your budget, style, and taste.
Full Day Amboseli National park
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
The day will be filled with game drives and relaxation time as well. Just tell your driver/guide how much you’d like of each.
But we’ll be up early for a pre-breakfast safari through the park as the elephant families march to their favorite watering holes.
We’ll travel by Jeep to our favorite watering hole – our lodge or tented camp for a hearty, safari breakfast. Then we’ll fill out the morning on another relaxed game drive.
The foliage is sparse at Amboseli which makes for easier game spotting.
We’ll take an easy lunch and plan our afternoon. Your driver/guide is an expert and can discuss the different regions of the park to explore, such as its marshes, lakes or woodlands.
Toward evening, look for another wonderful African sunset and maybe the clear, snowy summit of Kilimanjaro. Have your camera ready!

Amboseli – Nairobi
Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch
It’s our last safari morning but we’ve got plans to pack in as much as possible. We’ll start with a pre-breakfast game drive and see who else we can check off our list.
Breakfast follows, surrounded by all the beauty of nature and then another mid-morning drive through the park. There will be time to visit any spots you may have missed.
Then we’re off to Nairobi with a stop for lunch on the way.
We should arrive at about 16:30 hrs. (4:30 pm).
