3 DAYS AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK SAFARI
AWESOME VIEWS AND WILDLIFE
This is Amboseli National Park – known as the best place in Africa and indeed, the world to view wild, magnificent herds of elephants. Even better – your safari adventure is set against the backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro. Indeed, this park offers Africa’s finest views of the continent’s highest peak. This is a photographer’s paradise with striking sunrises and sunsets.
SAFARI ITINERARY
Nairobi – Amboseli National Park (250 km: Approx. 4 hrs drive)
Meal plan.Lunch, dinner
07:30 hrs. We will pick you up from your Nairobi Hotel, residence, or the Nairobi airport.
We’ll head out in your private safari vehicle, on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway. This is a relaxing drive through the African savannah country, with local homesteads punctuating the vast plain.
You can’t miss the wall of the mountain to the south – this is legendary Mt. Kilimanjaro, known as the “roof of Africa”, rising to 19,000 feet. It’s the continent’s tallest peak and the highest free-standing mountain in the world.
This is the backdrop to much of the park’s wildlife is always a gift to photographers, so have your camera ready for the next 3 days!
We’ll enjoy lunch at your accommodation and then head out for an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is known for its relative ease in wildlife spotting
OVERNIGHT – We’ll spend the night at your choice of safari lodge or tented camp. Also choose from economy, comfort, or luxury accommodations, depending on your budget, style, and taste.
Meal plan. Breakfast, lunch, dinner
A Full Day of Game Viewing
We like to rise early while on safari to set an adventurous tone for the day. We’ll watch the light breaking upon the park and catch the wildlife as it appears on the savannah.
Our next assignment: breakfast! And then another morning game drive through the park. One of the advantages of Amboseli is that the terrain is open with thin foliage. This makes the game spotting easier. We’ll be watching for lions and the park’s almost ever-present great parade of elephants. Seeing the magnificent elephants patrolling in line before the majesty of Kilimanjaro is a special treat of this reserve.
Lunch at your accommodation is next and perhaps some relaxing time. The day is yours to pace as you want.
Should you want to fill your day with unlimited game drives, your guide is available to make that happen as well.
We’ll relax and spend our second and final night at the park.
Meal plan. Breakfast, lunch
Our final day in the park and we want to squeeze in all the game viewing we can. We’ll start on a pre-breakfast safari and see who we can check off our list. Don’t forget to look for the smaller animals here like hyenas, foxes, jackals, and monkeys.
There’s also a colorful variety of rich birdlife in the park – pelican, kingfisher, egret and heron are found near the park’s marshes and lakes. We’ll enjoy one more Amboseli breakfast, with views of great Kilimanjaro and then a final game drive as we exit the reserve.
DROP OFF: It’s time for our drive back to Nairobi. It’s also a time to dwell upon all the wildlife we’ve seen and experienced over our 3-day safari. We’ll be back in town late afternoon and drop you off at your hotel, residence or airport.
